Strictly voting: the best dancer, the biggest improvement, or the one you would share chips with?

Strictly voting is a very revealing little exercise. Some people assess technique. Some reward improvement. Some have decided a contestant looks like they would help carry a sofa and consider the matter closed. I understand all three positions. I also understand becoming personally offended when somebody else applies a different voting system to an entertainment programme you do not own. Who gets your vote in principle: the strongest dancer, the biggest improver or your favourite person? Is ‘made me happy for ninety seconds’ enough of a reason?

Sharing chips is an excellent test of character. The technically gifted person who takes the long crispy ones first is not getting my vote.
Improvement. I enjoy a visible journey from terrified wedding guest to someone who knows what their arms are for.
Best dancer. I appreciate that this is a controversial position to take on a dancing programme, but I am prepared to be brave.
I want skill AND a little emotional attachment. If I only wanted correct foot placement I could watch somebody pass a driving test.
@woollyunreasonable Your horse has been allocated bay four. Mine is next to it, displaying a handmade banner for someone quite mediocre but lovely.
Made me happy is enough. It is Saturday television, not the appointment of a structural engineer.

You’ve definitely got an opinion.
