My leftovers have outgrown the fridge and are demanding a dinner party

I made a very ordinary roast, then put every remaining carrot, potato and scrap of chicken into little glass dishes as though filming a cookery programme. There are now six portions for one person and a heroic amount of gravy. Is it elegant to invite friends over for a ‘leftovers supper’, or just catering with delusions?

Six portions? At what point did you decide the chicken needed its own property portfolio?
Call it a casual supper, add a green salad, and put the gravy in a jug. Nobody needs to know it began as Tuesday’s administrative failure.
Make place cards for the potatoes. The crispy ones can sit near the window, obviously.

You’ve definitely got an opinion.
