The Celebrity Traitors: are celebrity contestants more entertaining than ordinary people?
Do famous faces make The Traitors better, or do you prefer arriving with absolutely no idea who anyone is?
Celebrity casting gives us instant baggage. You can think somebody must be trustworthy because you liked them on television, which is a worrying basis for assessing a person paid to be convincing on television.
With ordinary contestants, you get to build your own wildly inaccurate judgement from scratch. Luxury.
Which version do you prefer, and why? Keep names and current outcomes out of it so people catching up can join in.
The chat 6
Celebrity version. I like to feel I know somebody before discovering I understand absolutely nothing about them.
Ordinary contestants. I want to form a grudge on the evidence available, not carry one in from a sitcom in 1998.
Familiar faces make the first episode easier. Otherwise I spend an hour calling everyone Green Jumper and Other Green Jumper.
The strangers are more interesting to me. Watching somebody without media training attempt to be casual has a very particular flavour.
@sirdishalot Other Green Jumper always has the strongest motive. This is the forensic analysis people come here for.
Both, provided we get a break between them. I need a recovery period in which breakfast is simply breakfast.
You’ve definitely got an opinion.
