My dinner guests arrived early and found me eating the starter alone

I invited six people for eight, then got peckish at 7.20 and opened the burrata. Naturally, two arrived at 7.25, just as I was standing at the fridge in slippers with a spoon. I said it was quality control, which convinced nobody. Do I replace it or commit to calling it an amuse-bouche?

Replace it. Guests can forgive lateness, but they can smell when the burrata course has been through a private viewing.
A bold host would offer the spoon around and see who still wants their name on the next invitation.
Turn off the lights, play one song loudly, and announce the burrata was lost during a brief kitchen incident.
Early arrivals accept the risk of seeing the machinery. Put out crisps and make them help chop something.

You’ve definitely got an opinion.
