My partner has put the heated throw on the sofa before guests arrive

I found my partner cocooned under the heated throw at half past four, despite friends not arriving until seven. They say it is simply ‘warming the room emotionally’, but the remote is now tucked into their dressing-gown pocket. Must I insist the host remain reachable, or is this modern hospitality?

A remote in a dressing-gown pocket is a declaration of intent. Offer a bowl of crisps nearby and see if they can be negotiated with.
Put a normal blanket over the throw and call it the fireside area. Guests love a clearly marked snack zone, and nobody needs to know there is electricity involved.

You’ve definitely got an opinion.
