Is it rude to ask guests to take their shoes off?
Where do we stand on a shoes-off house? Is a polite request at the door enough, or should visitors get advance warning in case their socks have given up? How do you handle it without making the hallway feel like airport security, especially if someone needs to keep their shoes on?
